The Camden House Bed and Breakfast was originally built in 1832.  The 6,032 square foot estate remains nestled on 1.33 acres in the heart of Historic Downtown Camden and walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and fine stores.   This 5 Bedroom, 6 full bath home has been completely restored, while staying true to the charm and grandeur of its history.
This spectacular House, Springhouse, Smokehouse and wrought iron fence all survived the Civil War and still stand today.  The current owners relocated here in 2004 and they have completely renovated the home to accommodate today's modern conveniences, while staying true to its historic charm.    They currently run a very successful 4-Suite Bed & Breakfast and also hold Weddings and Events on weekends.

The Camden House was originally a 17 acre-plantation owned by a wealthy Camden Merchant named Charles John Shannon and his wife Martha Allison Shannon.  The house, a Robert Mills inspired three story mansion, was constructed after Shannon's home and store were destroyed in Camden's great fire of 1829.  Shannon acquired this plantation on Broad Street Property from the Kershaw Family and selected the highest point on the property to build his magnificent plantation.
